We are getting ready to do some ‘Geocaching’ with students coming to our summer youth program, YoUMA.  It’s been fun-strating tracing previous incarnations of ‘caches’–some of which are so small they will not be included in our map.  We shouldn’t reveal the coordinates yet, but let’s just say we will be staying away from the pavillion and the family of skunks living underneath it!  They are very cute, but they are definitely not part of the ‘college experience’ we want to demonstrate!

According to the Official Global GPS Cache Hunt website,

Geocachingis a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences online”

Professor Greg Fahy was kind enough to give us a tutorial and even a test location; we’re ready to get started now!
