Now through December 20th, the Katz Library is sponsoring our 2nd annual Winter Non-Perishable Food and Clothing Drive. Items may be dropped off in the Katz Library between the hours of 8am – 8pm Monday through Thursday, 8am to 5pm on Friday and 1pm-5pm on Sunday. Donation boxes are located in the 1st floor library lounge area.

All generous donations will be delivered to the Augusta Food Bank and Addie’s Attic located in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall at 9 Summer Street in Augusta. The following items are high need:

  • Cereal (both hot & cold)
  • Canned Soups
  • Canned Fruits
  • Spaghetti–1 pound packages
  • Rice & Rice Mixes
  • Spaghetti & Tomato Sauce-Canned

To help maintain the food supply, here is a list of suggested basic foods that are always needed and much appreciated:

· Tuna Fish
· Macaroni and Cheese
· Baked Beans
· Peanut Butter
· Canned Vegetables
· Coffee and Tea
· Baking Mixes (cake, brownie and muffin)
· Canned Meats
· Canned Milk
· Personal Care Items (especially toilet paper)

We are also co-sponsoring a Toys for Tots toy drive with the UMA Honors Program and Student Government Association. To participate, please bring an unwrapped toy for the collection box in the Katz Library. Donations may be dropped off during the hours of 8am – 8pm Monday through Thursday, 8am – 5pm on Friday and 1pm-5pm on Sunday. Your generous donations will be distributed among the children of Kennebec County.
