Between the results of a poll we did here on the blog and the bulletin board in the library we got a lot of feedback on how we can improve the Katz Library for you! The feedback is great so we have some responses and some followup questions! Post in the comments section, on Facebook, or on the bulletin board in the library. Let your voice be heard so we can be everything you’ve hoped for! Here is our first response to a question we got a lot of feedback about: Library Hours
We got a lot of notes about library hours, especially on weekends and evenings. We have to be careful not to expand too much, since we have to pull staff off of their weekday duties in order to staff the library on weekends.
To help us consider the best way for the institution to respond:
Tell us when you most need us to be open! Saturdays? Sunday mornings?
What services and resources do you need on the weekend – Checking out books? Help finding articles in our databases? Quiet study? Using computers and printers?
If you’re looking for a quiet place to study on Saturdays, the Lithgow Library (Winthrop St., Augusta) is open 9am-12noon on Saturdays, and the Maine State Library (next to the State House) is open 9am-2pm.
