Welcome to a new semester! Stay on top of things by stopping by the library to get your ID activated to be used as a library card and also make sure to get acquainted with our fabulous librarians!
Brenda is the collection manager and strives to assure that UMA faculty and students have great resources as well as instructing on how to use them. When she is not handling those duties she loves tackling students’ tough research questions and, as a former nurse, is particularly delighted to be a resource and comforting shoulder to nursing students. Brenda spends her spare time managing her ill-behaved cats, crumbling farmhouse, and rambling gardens.
As part of the librarian team, Jess helps support students and faculty research across the curriculum, but is especially happy when a music research question comes her way. She also loves gardening, singing in choral groups, and exploring Maine’s great outdoors.
Stacey loves helping students see research as a journey and scholarship as a conversation. The most important elements (human and otherwise) of her life are coffee, her partner, her son and daughter and her parrot, Kiki. Stacey’s interests include improving library service to satellite students, particularly the incarcerated, FYE and Bridge Year student populations; blended librarianship and the integration of librarians with the instructional design and tutoring fields; critical literacy and the #critlib movement; as well as accessibility and universal design.
